John David (JD) Walsh - Co-Founder & Partner
Mr. Walsh is the founder of Equity Standard Real Estate and New York State licensed Real Estate Broker with a decade plus track record of investment and residential sales and leases. In addition, Mr. Walsh is a seasoned real estate investor with Norsalin Real Estate, which focuses on U.S. opportunistic value-added investments and residential transactions in global gateway cities. The company has experience working in real estate development and investment with expertise in mixed-use (e.g., multi-family and retail) value-added transactions in New York City and the Hamptons. Norsalin Real Estate is a co-sponsor with Sorani Finance and Silver Wave Equities LLC, to develop (1) , 25-unit, ~25,000 square foot affordable housing development at 1193 Fulton Avenue, Bronx, NY, and (2) a $7 million, 22-unit, ~16,500 square foot multi-family investment in Hamilton Heights, New York City.
In addition, he is a former scholarship University of Maryland Varsity basketball player and founder of a global basketball academy (www.jdbasketball.com) that has conducted clinics in ten countries and instructed over 15,000+ children globally. Some of this work was in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State and several foreign governments. Mr. Walsh is an interim board member for the SoHo Business Improvement District and an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the University of Maryland’s ‘M’ Club.
Mr. Walsh received an M.S. in Real Estate Development from New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, willing the Joan Gordon Scholarship, and a B.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mr. Walsh is a long time Manhattan and SoHo resident where he lives with his wife and daughter.
